V2V Competition
San Diego, CA (July 17, 2009): Sullivan International Group, Inc. announced today that they will be conducting a business plan competition for new Veteran-Owned Businesses. Sullivan, which is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business, is putting together a competition for newly created businesses which are also Veteran-Owned. The competition will judge the thoroughness and the viability of the respective business plans and will be judged by a panel of leading business experts and entrepreneurs chosen and led by Steven Sullivan, owner and CEO of Sullivan International Group, Inc. “I feel that there is a strong need to support other veterans in their entrepreneurial endeavors. This Veteran to Veteran (V2V) competition will hopefully encourage new Veteran business owners to put their ideas to work and give them the freedom to work for themselves as I have.”

The V2V business plan competition will be officially announced at the National Veterans Conference in Las Vegas on July 22nd at a networking event hosted by Sullivan. Conference attendees can obtain additional information by stopping at the Sullivan conference booth, #720 to obtain an invitation to the event. Details will also be available at the Sullivan website, www.onesullivan.com after the conference ends on July 23rd.

Sullivan’s V2V competition is an opportunity to help offset some of the challenges of starting a new business by providing the winner of the competition resources that can help to continue to grow a company that we believe is positioned for success. You must be a SDVOB form to participate.

On August 10th, 2009, all application information will be available in downloadable / MS Word format. The application process will include the following:
  • Background information on the company and current owners
  • A business plan executive summary
  • Detailed information on your service offering
  • A bilateral non-disclosure document
  • A written essay on where you want your firm to be in 3 years (performance

Other requirements: 
  • Applicant firms cannot have revenues over 1 million dollars 
  • No venture capital funded firms will be accepted
  • Only service / product companies can participate (no resellers / supplies oriented firms)

The winner of the competition will be receiving cash, equipment and consulting from Sullivan worth $20,000. The judging panel will select the top three business plans and will conduct interviews with these three prior to announcing the winning company on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, 2009.
